Farida was born and raised in South India near the pristine beaches of Neelangarai. She was schooled by her mother and sisters in natural skin care methods from an early age. After attending an ayurvedic college, she became a skin care educator at Pivot Point Academy in Chennai.

Farida migrated to New York in 2009 and graduated from Dermalogica Academy two years later. Post graduation, she joined Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa in White Plains as the head of the esthetics department. Sadly, in early 2020, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the Red Door Company closed all 30 of its locations.

In June of 2020, Farida launched her own business – Farida Studio – Skin, Body, Beauty. The company, located at 120 Bloomingdale Road, offers a wide range of esthetics services including facials, skin treatments, massage, laser skin therapies, hair removal, lash, and brow treatments. Farida Studio has been chosen as “Best of Westchester” in 2023 and 2024 by Westchester Magazine.

As a “small company with a big heart” Farida Studio has raised and donated funds each year to White Plains Hospital for breast cancer research. Farida is now honored to participate in the DWOS event and hopes that you will vote for her, and attend the event in Danbury, to help support the Hillside Food Outreach in the critical work they do for those in need right in our own communities.

As a young girl, Farida trained in the classical Indian dance form, Bharatanatyam and her love of dancing has continued throughout her life. She lives in Rockland County with her husband and two children, twin high schoolers, excitedly spending time on campus visits and college applications.

On Saturday, April 26th I will be performing at Hillside Food Outreach's 16th annual "Dancing with our Stars" event!
