In 1968, Dr. Marquis earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bridgeport.  In 1969, Dr. Marquis attended the University of Bridgeport in its Master of Science and Electrical Engineering Program.  In 1974, Dr. Marquis graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Master of Business Administration. In 2019, Dr. Marquis received his Ph.D in Technology Management from the University of Bridgeport.

While earning his BSEE, Dr. Marquis worked full time as a Staff Engineer with Barlow Controls, Inc. of Stamford, Connecticut, and Gorn Electric of Stamford, Connecticut.  At the time of his graduation from the University of Bridgeport, Dr. Marquis was the Engineering Manager at Gorn Electric.  From late 1968 to early 1971, Dr. Marquis was employed by Mosler Research as its Manager of Advanced Product Development.  In March of 1971, Dr. Marquis joined William Kimbell at KimchuK Incorporated and established the Electronic Division of KimchuK.  The primary purpose of the Electronic Division was the establishment of Product Design and Development and Contract Manufacturing.  In 2005 Dr. Marquis was made President of KimchuK, Inc.

Dr. Marquis has several patents and patents pending in a wide variety of technical areas.

 In addition to being President of KimchuK, Inc., Dr. Marquis has invested in a number of other corporations as well as a number of commercial buildings and a residential condominium complex.

Dr. Marquis was married to Attorney Linda A. Marquis, who passed away in 2016, and has three children with the ages ranging from 54 years old to 35 years old. Dr. Marquis is married to Magdalena Basiak Marquis.

In 2011, Dr. Marquis was awarded the Cecil J. Previdi Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce and the City of Danbury.

In 2013, Dr. Marquis was invited to join the Advisory Committee of the Engineering Program of the Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Florida.

In 2015, Dr. Marquis was invited to join the Ancell School of Business Dean’s Executive Advisory Council at Western Connecticut State University

Dr. Marquis is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

Among sporting activities that Dr. Marquis enjoys are golf, antique autos, scuba diving, flying, snow-mobiling, fishing and hunting.  In the area of flying, Dr. Marquis is a private, instrument rated, single and multi-engine land and single-engine sea rated pilot.
