Let's DO THIS!
Let's DO THIS!
This June 30th, I will paddle the entire 21 miles of Lake Austin in the 16th Annual Flatwater's Dam That Cancer presented by TYLER'S.
As many of you know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2021. After multiple surgeries, scars, hours of rehab, and many tears shed, I am CANCER FREE! I couldn't have done it without the support of my family, friends, surgeons, nurses, and the nurse navigator who helped me through every step along the way.
It's hard to describe the emotional trauma you go through. Even with early-stage cancer, you're hit with the reality that this could be it. It's hard on you. It's hard on your family. It's always in the back of your mind.
This year, I want to help others who are going through what I experienced, by raising funds to help others get through their cancer diagnosis. Did I mention that it's a 21 mile paddle? I'M SO SCARED! It'll be the physically hardest thing I've ever done. TEN HOURS of paddling? My arms, legs and abs will be noodles. However, it will be so worth it.
Please join me on this journey. 100% of proceeds raised for the paddle benefit Flatwater. Flatwater provides access to mental health therapy in the wake of cancer. They connect people with therapists to help clear their mind, heal their body, and find the strength to take on cancer. Since its inception in 2010, Flatwater has provided over 74,000 sessions of therapy to people in need. To learn more about Flatwater, please visit Flatwater.org.
So many of us have been affected by cancer. Whether a friend, family member, coworker or yourself, cancer is all around us. Please consider making a contribution to my page and helping me reach my goal.
