The Winter Challenge

The New England Disabled Sports Winter Challenge is our largest fundraising campaign of the year, lasting from January through March. The Winter Challenge culminates with the Kostick Kup race and Winter Challenge Dinner, held this year on March 10. It is the biggest day and night of the year for the New England Disabled Sports community -- athletes and their families, volunteers, coaches, donors, sponsors, staff and board -- all coming together in celebration of the Mission.

It is through generous donations to our Winter Challenge that more than 500 student-athletes living with disabilities are able to enjoy adaptive sports year-round. The support of donors, such as you, helps us keep our program fees low, guarantees that no student is ever turned away if he or she is unable to pay, and assures our student-athletes have access to the most advanced adaptive sports equipment available.

New England Disabled Sports – Where Boundaries Are Broken

New England Disabled Sports (NEDS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded 30 years ago and headquartered in Lincoln, New Hampshire at the Loon Mountain Resort with a satellite office at the Bretton Woods Resort, is nationally recognized as one of the premier adaptive sports programs in the United States. NEDS offers both winter and summer adaptive sports programming, organized and directed through the guidance of our expert programming staff and volunteer coaches.

New England Disabled Sports offers a full range of year-round recreational opportunities, providing customized adaptive sports instruction to adults and children living with physical and cognitive disabilities. Our program focuses on the student-athlete’s ability, not his or her disability.

The NEDS outdoor sports program was created to enrich the lives of, and empower, individuals of all ages and abilities. Our students, their families and support groups enjoy having fun, making social connections, setting and achieving individualized goals, in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment that fosters community and allows each student to recognize and achieve his or her full potential in sports.
