Increase youth engagement, responsibility, and achievement at GV's one-day intensive, interactive and collaborative professional development institute is held on August (8:30am-3:30pm).
Participants earn 6 continuing education clock hours from the Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction while learning Global Leadership and Democratic Classroom pedagogy, approaches and content, and then applying those practices during the institute and in the post-Institute Professional Learning Community.
This one-day workshop will focus on refining teachers’ skills in building effective class meetings and class jobs as well as building a deeper understanding of the Adlerian principles so that you can react in the moment. The workshop will cover:
- 4 Mistaken Goals
- Logical & Natural Consequences
- Putting them in the Same Boat
- Other Adlerian concepts that participants bring up
There will be very little presentation time by facilitator, Chris Fontana, and instead, ample time will be saved for role playing and practical discussion time based on the role-plays. In other words, the workshop will be very interactive.
"Interactive program with real materials, skilled presenters, and enthusiastic participants. I'm so glad that there's going to be a follow up!" - Gretchen Mahon, high school teacher
