Mad Dash 5K 2017 - Tampa-St. Pete
SUPPORTING HEALTH & WELLNESS
Created by Forward Performing Arts & the Madison Scouts, The Mad Dash 5K was started to support and promote a healthy lifestyle and fitness in our nation's youth, with particular focus toward those young people participating in high school marching bands, color guards, and drum lines. Proceeds raised through the Mad Dash 5K will be used to advance health & wellness initiatives in the marching arts through practice and a series of educational clinics.
Proceeds from the Tampa-St. Pete event will also support the music education programs at Seminole High School in Seminole, Florida.
ABOUT THE RUN
The 2017 Tampa-St. Pete Mad Dash 5K is a combinations street and trail run in Pinellas County, Florida. The start and finish are at the Weedon Island Cultural Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. The course runs through the Cultural Center parking lot to Weedon Drive, east to the Fishing Pier, then doubles back west along Weedon Drive to the second trail entry.
For the next 2.1 miles participants run under the canopy on the trails at Weedon Island. The course path is varied, from sand trails to a dirt path (and yes, maybe some mud). There are twists and turns in the path, bridges to cross and an abundance of wildlife to experience, including the protected Gopher Tortoise. Finishers receive the commemorative Mad Dash Dog Tag, water, fruit and the satisfaction of knowing they have supported music education on a local and national level!
NOTE: Participants registered after April 6, 2017 are not guaranteed a #RunLikeMad Event Tee Shirt. We will accommodate as many people as possible who register past that date.
The 2017 Mad Dash St Pete is sponsored by 102.5 The Bone/Mike Calta Show, Gold and Diamond Source, Hands Across the Bay, Fit2Run St Petersburg, Suncoast Fitness, Ted's Firearms/St Pete Police Supply, Billy's Corner Barber Shop, Urban Brew and BBQ, The Avenue Eat/Drink, Punky's Bar and Grill, Dr Eric Springer/Northeast Chiropractic Center, Dr Mike Hopkins/Hopkins Restorative Dentistry, Sacino's Formalwear and Rainbow411.com.
