Taos Community Foundation and Taos Ski Valley Present: The 20th Annual Ben Myers Ridge-A-Thon
The Ben Myers Ridge-A-Thon is a snowsports fundraising event at Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico presented by Taos Community Foundation. Celebrating 20 years of exhausting ourselves for charity, we are expanding the event in 2016 to include; two more potentially less-exhausting challenge categories for fund raisers, direct involvement by local nonprofits and their supporters as event participants, and a pool of matching funds to leverage all dollars raised. These additions are the first phase development of Taos Community Foundation’s Fund Fest which we hope will become Taos’ most successful community fund raising event.
Ridge-A-Thon was initiated in 1997 to assist with medical expenses for the family of Ben Myers. Ben was a local extreme skier who lost his battle with cancer at age 26. Ben is still so fondly remembered by his community and each year we take the time to continue the event in order to help others. Over the last 19 years, the Ridge-A-Thon has raised over $575,000 dollars to assist local people. Funds raised in the 2016 event support community health.
This exciting snowsports fundraising events at Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico will be held March 18 and 19, 2016. Donations to our Ridge-A-Thon athletes are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law and support basic needs in our community. Visit raisetheridge.com for more information.
