Our Classy Awards Committee has been hard at work evaluating the outstanding programs nominated by social impact organizations around the world, and we’re excited to announce the Top 50 Finalists for the 2021 Classy Awards.
The Classy Awards Finalists
The Classy Awards exist to recognize the achievements of nonprofits and social enterprises operating in our communities and around the world. Our goal is to shine a spotlight on the new strategies, creative thinking, and ideas that illustrate the potential to move the needle on some of our major issues.
The nomination process engaged over 1,400 organizations operating in 157 different countries. Each nominee was evaluated on these four main criteria:
- Scale, scope, and expertise in addressing the problem
- Ability to solve the problem
- Creativity of the solution
- Organizational effectiveness, diversity and inclusion, and resource management
Driving Meaningful Change
Our Finalists are making an impact across all cause sectors. They are addressing a myriad of social problems, including:
- Food insecurity
- Lack of access to clean water
- Domestic abuse
- Lack of access to quality education
- Wage and opportunity gaps
- Systemic racism
- Mass incarceration
- Animal testing
And more. They work around the globe, from San Diego to Sudan, and represent programs of all sizes. For all of their differences, each Finalist possesses unwavering passion for their mission that is necessary for driving meaningful change.
A total of 13 Classy Awards will be announced on September 28, each highlighting success at either a programmatic or individual level. Awards include Social Innovation, People’s Choice, Adapt & Overcome, and Lifetime Achievement.
The Leadership Council will determine the ten Social Innovation Winners, and the Classy Awards Committee will determine the Winners of the Adapt & Overcome and Lifetime Achievement Awards. Supporters can vote for Finalists in the People’s Choice category here until June 25, 2021.
We want to thank everyone who took the time to submit a nomination. Reading through each program was an incredibly moving and inspiring experience. This was a very competitive pool of organizations, all of whom are worthy of recognition for the lives they are changing and the positive impact they are making around the world. We are honored that you shared your story with us and hope you’ll be back in 2022.
