Position Description:

We're currently looking for a detail-oriented Intern with a positive and professional attitude to support the Accounting team for 20 hours/week. This internship will run through Fall 2017, with the opportunity to continue onto Spring 2018. The role is out of our downtown San Diego office; we are not open to remote candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the month-end close process, including rolling forward journal entries and supporting work paper reconciliations for various balance sheet and expense accounts
  • Responsible for various activities in the accounts payable/receivable function
  • Assisting with the creation and maintenance of process documentation

Requirements:

  • Current undergraduate, pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance; 3.5+ GPA

Description:

We are searching for a creative, growth-minded, socially responsible, marketing content writer to join our team. This person will be responsible for generating unique, individually curated content at a consistent pace to be used across our marketing efforts, from lead generation to customer support.

Through weekly blog posts, e-books, learning documents, sales enablement materials, marketing collateral, and digital assets (web, email, advertising) the content writers at Classy are the cornerstone of our marketing team.

What will your day-to-day entail?

We're a fast-paced, agile, and rapidly growing startup. In other words, you will wear a lot of hats but your primary day-to-day focus will be researching and writing content to be distributed across our marketing channels.

  • Write 1 to 3 blog posts each week
  • Research and identify on-brand images to be used as blog headers for each post you develop
  • Write unique meta descriptions and social teaser copy for the content you produce
  • Use WordPress to prepare and publish the blog content you create
  • Collaborate with the marketing, sales, and customer support teams to develop content ideas for both the blog and general marketing placements
  • Participate in monthly content pitch meetings
  • Use Hubspot and Google Analytics to analyze key success metrics on a monthly basis

What you bring to the table:

The Associate Marketing Content Writer ideally has a strong journalism background or a degree in a related field. Specific skills and qualifications may include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English or related field preferred
  • Exposure to or experience with a nonprofit (not required, but ideal)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with an emphasis on creating easy-to-understand material
  • Self-starter who manages time and deadlines with a great attitude
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, new technology tools to streamline processes including Evernote and Asana
  • Basic understanding of WordPress
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail
  • Superb communication skills and desire to be part of a larger team

Position description:

We want you to help us establish Classy as THE thought leader in nonprofit fundraising and social impact. Help us understand nonprofit fundraising through data science, to support awesome organizations achieve their goals to do good.

We’re looking for a data science intern (full-time: 3-6 months OR part-time (20 hrs/week): 6-9 months) who is a self-starter and has experience driving their own data science project. Be comfortable with:

  • Using a common scripting language (e.g. Python, R) to access data sources (database, csv, json APIs, web scraping), clean, and cross-reference data.
  • Using appropriate statistical / machine-learning methods to analyze the data
  • Publishing insights (visualizations and text, internal presentations & blogging)
  • Prototyping tools to expose these insights internally and/or externally (to non-profit organizations)

You will be guided at each step of the way by a small, talented team of developers, analysts, and data scientists. You'll also need a strong, independent work ethic to complete meaningful projects during the internship. Potential projects include:

  • What factors predict whether a fundraising campaign is successful?
  • How do we identify our top fundraising users as early as possible?
  • What types of text and images are most compelling to users?
  • What fundraising campaigns are most similar to each other?
  • What news articles would be most interesting to potential donors for a given charity or fundraising campaign?
  • Much, much more!

You will have chances to learn new skills, give and receive feedback on projects, work with our unique in-house dataset, and discover new insights in how Classy can best support organizations to do good in the world.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D program

Classy is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to automate and expand Classy's AWS datacenter operations. The ideal candidate has practical experience with and exposure to security best practices to achieve PCI DSS Level 1 certification. You will develop tools to manage and automate the security of Classy's production deployment. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AWS production and staging VPCs
  • Manage our runtime AMIs built on Ubuntu LTS, Nginx, PHP, Node.js
  • Manage our databases running on MySQL, MongoDB, Redis
  • Manage and improve deployments across multiple development teams
  • Work with our security engineers to achieve and maintain PCI compliance
  • Service attack surface minimization/hardening
  • Implement security patch management automation

Our team is building a generalized payment platform as a set of APIs and UI supporting non-profit organizations. Responsibilities 

You will need to be a strong architect, software designer and individual contributor who knows how to build a product from the ground up. Requirements 

  • BS in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • 4+ years of related work experience 
  • Full stack software engineer, comfortable with multiple languages including but not limited to Node.JS and PHP
  • Experience with data stores like MySQL, S3
  • Experience with architecting around queues and topics
  • Understanding of Amazon Web Services including Lambda, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS and the various build and deployment tools which can be used in AWS

Classy is seeking a highly qualified VP of Enterprise Services to perform a leadership role in managing the implementation projects of our enterprise software solution. The VP of Enterprise Services will be responsible for defining the strategic direction of the services team, manage the implementation team and ensure customer success of Enterprise implementations.   

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow the client implementation service delivery team providing management and oversight of implementation projects.  
  • Manage a portfolio of platform implementation projects providing onboarding, integration, education and documentation to drive long term customer success & value.
  • Provide technical and functional expertise to customers during the project implementation process.  Evaluate external data systems, design requirements and success criteria to provide best practice recommendations to successfully implement Classy.
  • Responsible for department management including hiring, training, performance management and career development.
  • Develop strong relationships with key customers, partners and 3rd party vendors.
  • Develop and/or maintain department procedures, metrics and key performance indicators to measure operations, improvement targets and support changing business requirements.
  • Partner with the Sales team and assist in project pre-qualification and scoping to ensure that high quality deals are sold that will lead to customer success. Evaluate the roadmap for a customer’s long-term vision, to identify solutions for each client's unique needs.
  • Provide leadership with regular project updates serving as a critical advisor to the team as an Implementation leader.  Set the strategic direction for the implementation and professional services team. Maintain reporting on capacity, amount of implementation work, and future outlook in order to advise strategic direction setting.

What you bring to the table:

  • At least 8 years of experience demonstrating management and leadership experience, preferably in a SaaS software professional services environment; Strong operational management, project management, consulting, technology and process improvement skills; strong communication/presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor Degree required, BS in Computer Science or related field preferred.
