Software Engineer II


Classy's Product Technology team is hiring a Software Engineer, Front End to build and extend our fundraising products, analytics platform, and visualization tools for the next phase of our business. The ideal candidate is well-versed with front end development technologies and is comfortable working with all layers of the application. We want to talk to you if you can see beyond the {brackets} and love transforming designs and mockups into highly-scalable, fault-tolerant products. 

What you'll do:

  • Within an Agile environment, work as part of a cross-functional Scrum team and develop rich user interfaces for web applications that processes billions of dollars per year.
  • Analyze, design, and contribute code while maximizing for both efficiency and maintainability within a large, complex, and established code base.
  • Learn and grow your skills by working collaboratively with experienced and engaged developers to design new features and re-architect existing ones.
  • Participate in an engineering culture of “always be learning” where the sharing and learning from failures is celebrated and the giving and receiving of constructive candid feedback is highly encouraged. 

What you bring (Required):

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience with front-end technologies and some server-side experience
  • Proficiency with Javascript ES6, web frameworks such as React and/or Angular, and Linux.
  • Familiarity with the development of APIs, ideally in Node.js or popular frameworks
  • Familiarity with schema design in relational or NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with code versioning tools (GIT/Bitbucket).
  • A sense of quality, and sharp engineering skills with strong computer science fundamentals.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Ability to understand product requirements and translate them into technical subtasks.
  • Experience working with cloud computing services.
